THE UNITED AFRICAN COALITION ENDORSES

RAY McGUIRE FOR MAYOR

BRONX, NEW YORK— We are living in unprecedented times. With a pandemic that upended the lives of families and turned the city upside down, New Yorkers need a new Mayor with a steady leadership experience and managerial skills. Ray McGuire, a former Vice-Chairman at Citigroup, a financial expert who presided over global-scale, transformative economic investments, and financial operations larger than the city’s annual budget, is the Mayor New York needs for a comeback from the ravages of the pandemic. The United African Coalition (UNAC), an organization representing the interests of African immigrants in New York City is backing and providing strategic support to the candidacy of Ray McGuire.

In a crowded field, McGuire stands as the champion of all New Yorkers. His non-political, non-ideological background will be a positive when it comes to solving New York’s problems.

Rising from humble beginnings, a Black man brought up in a single-parent household in Dayton, Ohio, he appreciates the struggles of ordinary New Yorkers. McGuire’s inspiring and uplifting trajectory and life experiences from his Dayton-to-Harvard-to-the pinnacle of the investment banking business department of Citigroup for more than a decade, point to a leader whose ideas and background will revive the city at a time of “strains and division”.

McGuire understands the experiences of the majority of New York’s 8 million people who are

non-white. He has mentored and stirred the careers of a great number of young minority business and banking aspirants. As he is fond of saying “Most of the rooms I have been in, I’m the first person who looks like me to make it there, and I’ve made sure that I wasn’t the last. I extended the ladder.” In the same vein, Ray McGuire is a longtime advocate for Africa and Africans’ progress. His affinity with Africa’s financial systems and his embrace of the African immigrant communities in our great city makes him the incontrovertible “African” Mayoral candidate of choice.

UNAC, the broad coalition of civic and religious African organizations, proudly endorses and supports Ray McGuire for the next competent, fair, sound, compassionate Mayor of New York.
